Come, join our mission to Educate Every Last Child!

Over the years, we have faced a multitude of issues but undeterred,
we have devised several solutions that help us continue sharing the gift of education with underprivileged children.

Here, take a look.

THE PROBLEM

India struggles with the problem of illiteracy; the literacy rate in our country stands at 74.04%.
(according to the National Census, 2019)

According to Census 2011, 39% population is under 18 years, and 13.1% is between 0-6 years.

Additionally, According to ASER 2019, out of 96.7% children enrolled in schools, 25.7% are out of schools.

Annual Status of Education Report 2019 states that out of 96.7% of children enrolled in schools, only 71% attend school regularly; it is estimated that 1.7 million children are out of school, most of whom belong to marginalized and poor communities. Post primary education, many children drop out as education is no longer free.

India sees an increase in the number of girl students dropouts by class XI!

The value in education and learning needs a steady improvement.

32.5% of Grade 2 children cannot identify letters and ~20% of Grade 2 children cannot identify numbers between 1-9. Additionally, numerous studies show that ‘low fee private schools’ add no value to children wherein learning outcomes are concerned. (Azim Premji Foundation Study, 2019).

Many schools don’t have separate toilets for girls, which results in a considerable drop of girl students. Most students, especially girls are also intimidated by the long distance commute to the school from their homes. Government schools struggle with proper infrastructure.

Inequalities in access to water, sanitation and hygiene have kept many children away from schools.

There is a growing shortage of teachers in elementary schools due to which many schools are compelled to recruit under-qualified and contractual teachers.

Owing to the quality of education students receive, they are unable to cope up with requirements wherein employment opportunities are concerned. This gives rise to the unbeatable poverty circle.
